Police House

Located in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood in Manhattan, the rehabilitation entails the adaptive re-use of a car garage and conversion into a community shareable office space with a ground floor coffee/bar. Interior work will focus on restoring the massive historic concrete appearance of the open plan building. The proposed layout scheme follows the existing building central axis defined by the car/freight elevator and parking spots. The existing slab and concrete-cladded steel beams will remain visible for most of the building. The rehabilitation project is expected to qualify for the federal preservation tax incentives program.
